Chapter 1

Look straight forward; don’t look back or to the sides, straight forward. I couldn’t ignore all the commotion about people talking the way I look and act like, so I closed my eyes and kept walking to my first class. It was sad that I couldn’t shut my ears ‘cause all I heard was,

“Look at the way she dresses, it’s so 70’s looking.”
“I know! She needs work.”
“More like help!”
“She’s a nerd like any other nerd.”
“Hahahha!”

I just kept closing my eyes and walked straight forward hoping I would get to my class the correct way. Just when I knew it, I bumped into Jake. Jake was one of the most popular guys in the school.

“Huh! I am so sorry.”
“Yeah...” he said in a weird voice.

Everyone standing around was laughing at me because I collided into Jake and dropped my books and glasses. Jake was nice enough to pick them up for me. Jessica, who was Jake’s girlfriend, was laughing at me the most.

“Watch where you is goin` dork. Oh, and by the way, learn to open your eyes when you walk.”

Other people were still laughing at me, like Jessica’s friends she calls “shizz” and “bizz”.

“Geek” said one.
“Nerd” said another walking away.

They all walked away from me and still said some insults.

“No wonder she needs glasses, can’t even open her eyes correctly!”

I had to be strong to hold my tears in. It’s just mean when you tease someone else; it just makes you the hater.

Later that day, I was talking to Angela on the phone about homework. Angela has been my best friend since the 4th grade, the other years she was just like other people, teasing me and making me cry. But once she got to know me, we were the best of friends.

“So… I heard you bumped into Jake today…”
“Listen Angela, I don’t wanna talk about it…”
“Okay... Okay.”

I couldn’t help it… So I told her.

“IT WAS HORRIBLE!”
“Wha- Why?
“I was teased!”
“Bu-“
“Again! What is wrong with these people?! Don’t they know that teasing hurts?!”
“Well Holl-“
“I can’t stand it anymore! I swear, I will do something to Jessica and her, whatever… “JU JU” friends she calls!”
“What are you gonna do?”
“I have no idea… I just want revenge…”
“Holly, that doesn’t sound like you… You know revenge is wrong.”
“True, but what is someone purposely put “super glue” in your new hat you were going to wear, and when you take it off, you can’t! ‘Cause its SUPER DAMN GLUE!”
“Oh no you didn’t, come on, you need revenge now.”
“Now that’s what I’m talking about Angela!”
